Ghost hunters have captured the eerie figure of a man in a photograph taken inside an old church built on the site of a mass grave for Black Death victims.
A head and shoulders can be seen in seats a few rows in front of hunter Jodie Carman at the former place of worship - and she claims nobody was in front of her at the time the image was taken.
Shocked at what she had captured at the venue in Norwich, which is also an old community centre, the mother-of-one and fellow ghost hunter Chris Hudson shone a torch but nobody was there.

Ms Carman, 34, claimed the photo was taken not long after midnight at the building - just minutes after the group had heard a series of bumps and knocks, despite everyone being stood still.
She said: ‘We knew there was something there with us that night - we could hear it moving around the hall around us. But this photo definitely proves it. There is no way that you can deny it.
‘The shape is very clear. When everyone saw it they were at first stunned into silence as everyone had seen me take the picture and knew there was no-one in front of me.
‘Once people calmed down they were just amazed and everyone started treating the hunt a lot more seriously as they realised we had caught some very clear evidence.’
Ms Carman admitted that many photos of apparent ghosts are of ‘debatable quality’, but she said an image such as this was ‘exceptionally rare’ - adding: ‘I’ve never seen anything like this before.’
She was with the Norfolk Ghost Hunters group who have ghost hunts on most weekends, and her picture was taken on July 18 after the organisation had been at the venue for around four hours.

Mr Hudson explained that the venue in which the picture was taken is an old building with a reputation for being haunted – but he could not reveal its exact location.

This is because he is sworn to secrecy by the owner, with the venue still used for children’s events. The owner fears if word gets out about a 'ghost' then it will scare away young families.
Mr Hudson, a poultry farmer by day, said: ‘The church is situated on a mass grave where they dumped bodies of plague victims and bones have been known to surface when it rains.
‘It’s a very creepy building and there was a lot of activity on the night the picture was taken. The bathroom itself is believed to have four bodies lurking below it where hanging victims were buried.
‘On the night when members of our group entered the bathroom they felt a strong presence that disturbed one woman so badly she almost fainted and then became hysterical and had to be calmed down.’
‘But to get some photographic evidence of some of the things we have seen is fantastic. What the picture shows, I wouldn’t like to say 100 per cent, but it looks like an apparition.’
As for what might be behind what she saw, Ms Carman said: ‘I believe it was a person once from this world who for some reason has become stuck here. Maybe they like that chair and that venue. No one knows, but the camera definitely captured something on it.’
The group plan to return to the venue in the near future to see if they can capture more evidence.

HOW THE BLACK DEATH KILLED UP TO 200 MILLION PEOPLE IN EUROPE

The Black Death is thought to have killed between 75 and 200 million people across Europe during the mid-14th century.
Recent analysis of DNA from victims indicated the pathogen responsible for the plague was the Yersinia pestis bacterium.
It is believed to have originated in central Asia, before reaching the Crimea by 1346. It then travelled across Europe until 1353.
Rats are thought to have carried infected fleas on merchant ships throughout the Mediterranean and Europe.
Research suggests it took 150 years for Europe's population to recover from the effects of the plague.
However, earlier this year experts in Norway claimed it was actually gerbils that caused repeated epidemics of the disease.
